Bio

Jon (he/him) is a queer cartoonist living in Chicago. Since 2012, he has written and drawn many comics, including the Guest House, Dying of Thirst (one of The Comics Journal's Best Comics of 2018), and poems about anger.

Jon got his High School Diploma at Cranbrook-Kingswood in Bloomfield Hills, MI, and his BA from Kalamazoo College. In his spare time he as a full-time graphics job. Jon has studied cartooning at the Old Town School of Folk Music and the Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW). He has contributed to anthologies about bears, school mascots, queer horror, social anxiety (in Sweaty Palms 2, a 2020 Ignatz Award Nominee), and professional wrestling. Jon has tabled at: CAKE, TCAF, SPX, Book Fort at Pitchfork Music Festival, Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, Chicago Zine Fest, Detroit Comix Party, Bookfort at Pitchfork Music Festival, Grand Rapids Zine Fest, St. Louis Small Press Expo, Gluestick Festival, and the American Libraries Association Annual Conference. Jon has exhibited art at SAW, ChiPRC, Logan Hardware, Flair Chicago,and at Challengers Comics.
